The Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of Ioannina aims to offer to the society scientists with a fulfilled and autonomous scientific personality on one hand and a deeply founded training in the scientific field of computer science on the other. The objective is double: the culture and the wider growth of a scientific personality, with all the characteristics that determine it as well as the pursuit and the foundation of specialised knowledge in the field of Computer Science.
In the framework of the above mentioned aim, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, offers both Undergraduate and Graduate Courses. Simultaneously, the University of Ioannina offers to the members of the academic community, services and infrastructures, as for example, Libraries, Scholarships, International Exchanges, and other activities in the framework of everyday life in an academic community.
Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering last 10 semesters. The offered courses cover all the spectrum of necessary knowledge in the field of Computer Science. The courses are distinguished as compulsory and elective. Moreover, students can realise an undergraduate Thesis as well as register for courses belonging to the "knowledge domain" of Divisions of other Departments of the University.
Registration of graduate students of other Departments

The exams take place during 1-20 December every academic year and the deadline for applications is from 1/11 until 15/11 every academic year
For further pursuit in the scientific field of Computer Science & Engineering, the Department organises and operates:
- a Program of Graduate Studies under the title "Informatics" aiming to offer specialised knowledge in Computer Science & Engineering, in the Master of Science (M.Sc.) graduate level.
- a Program of Doctoral Studies aiming at the training of researchers, capable to contribute to the advancement of research in Computer Science & Engineering, in a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) level.
